Li Dazhi, vice president of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, wrote an article in Huisi on the 9th, saying that the rapid transit payment system (FPS) in Hong Kong had been in use for nearly four years, and by the end of August, it had registered 10.9 million people, with a steady growth in usage. The relevant departments of the SAR government cooperated with the Digital Currency Institute of the People's Bank of China, making Hong Kong the first cross-border pilot of digital RMB outside the mainland for technical testing. The technical test has entered the second stage. The main test is to increase the value of digital RMB wallets by the number of revolutions. The scope and scale of the test has also been expanded. The number of participating banks has increased from one to four. At present, the progress is good. More digital RMB operating institutions and local banks will be introduced to participate in the test in due time, so that Hong Kong residents can use digital RMB in the mainland in the future.
