The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will accelerate the planning and layout of future industries!

After the five major departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the State Administration of Radio and Television, and the State General Administration of Sport issued the Action Plan for the Integration and Development of Virtual Reality and Industrial Applications (2022-2026), the Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Jin Zhuanglong, in an interview with Xinhua News Agency, proposed to accelerate the innovative development of strategic emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, biological manufacturing, and the Internet of Things, Implement the special action for the development of advanced manufacturing industry clusters, study and formulate the action plan for future industrial development, and accelerate the planning and layout of future industries such as humanoid robots, metauniverse, quantum technology and so on.

The digital economy is an important engine to promote China's economic growth and an important advantage in building a modern industrial system. China has built the world's largest and technologically advanced network infrastructure, with 2.28 million 5G base stations, and a gigabit optical network capable of covering 500 million households. The industrial Internet has been widely integrated into 45 major categories of the national economy, and the role of the digital economy in empowering the real economy has become increasingly prominent.

In 2023, we will thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and take the breakthrough in digital technology innovation and application expansion as the main direction to promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy.

First, accelerate the construction of digital infrastructure. We will deepen the construction of 5G and gigabit optical networks, coordinate the construction of new infrastructure such as data centers and industrial Internet, and accelerate the deployment and application of the Internet of Vehicles. We will implement the special action of "broadband frontier" and give strong support to the construction of "double gigabit" networks in regions with demand and conditions.

Second, promote the innovative development of digital industry. Focus on key areas such as integrated circuits, 5G and new displays, and improve the supply level of basic software and hardware, core electronic components, key basic materials and intelligent manufacturing equipment. Research and formulate supporting policies to better play the role of data elements and build world-class digital industrial clusters.

Third, deepen the digital transformation of industry. Carry out the digital transformation of manufacturing industry, promote the popularization of industrial Internet to industrial parks, build a batch of 5G fully connected factories, build a batch of globally leading smart factories and smart supply chains, and promote the scenario-based and standardized replication to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Fourth, strengthen network and data security protection. Strengthen the construction of network infrastructure security protection capacity, establish data security system specifications and standards in the field of industry and information technology, and enhance the security assurance capacity in the new integration fields such as 5G, industrial Internet, Internet of Vehicles.

Fifth, optimize the development environment of digital economy. Innovate telecom market supervision, guide and urge the compliance development of platform enterprises, deepen the comprehensive management of network environment such as preventing and combating telecom network fraud, and comprehensively strengthen the protection of user rights and interests.
